We shared goodness, and its blessings spread

The Sultan of the months, Ramadan, came with all its blessings and has now passed.

From the iftar tables where we broke our fasts together with our brothers and sisters in need to the Eid gifts for orphans, we all experienced the happiness of carrying out many activities together with friends of goodwill.

The blessings of Ramadan spread across the earth

As every year, this year too we carried out our Ramadan activities with the support of our donors, primarily in our country and also in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Due to the earthquake disaster we experienced last February, which affected 11 provinces, our priority this year was again the earthquake region. Through our representatives, we delivered food packages and food cards to our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake who are trying to rebuild their lives in container cities.

Throughout Ramadan, members of our board of directors from the headquarters visited earthquake regions and various provinces, both accompanying the activities and observing the conditions of those in need on site. Yardımeli Europe General Coordinator Hayri Tufanoğlu visited Kahramanmaraş and Hatay, bringing greetings and solidarity from Europe to our earthquake-affected brothers and sisters. During Ramadan, we went street by street and door to door delivering food packages and food cards to those in need.

Thanks to the food card application first implemented in our country by Yardımeli, our brothers and sisters in need were able to buy the products they truly needed and in the quantity they required from stores instead of receiving standard pre-prepared food packages. In this way, waste was prevented and the products that were truly needed reached those in need.

During Ramadan, we also delivered the entrusted fidya and fitr donations from our donors directly to those in need. In order for our orphan children not to enter Eid with sadness, we gradually delivered their Eid clothing gifts throughout Ramadan.

Family Iftars

One of the most special moments of Ramadan is gathering around the iftar table with the family. To share this moment and break our fast together, we continued our family iftar tradition this year as well. We visited families in need, bringing iftar meals prepared according to the number of people in the household, and broke our fast together. With our Eid gifts, we also brought joy to the children.

From Anatolia to our lands of the heart…

Since October 7, thousands of children, women and elderly people have lost their lives in the massacre taking place in Gaza. Unfortunately, this tragedy that the world has failed to stop continued throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.

As Yardımeli, we continued our humanitarian aid to Gaza during Ramadan. With the support of our donors, we delivered humanitarian aid materials, especially food, needed in Gaza through the Turkish Red Crescent. We carried out food package distributions and iftar meal distributions for more than 1.5 million of our brothers and sisters who have been forced to the southern part of Gaza.

In Lebanon, we distributed food packages, organized communal iftars and delivered Eid clothing to orphan children in the Sabra and Shatila camps and camps in the Saida region where Palestinian refugees live. Our association president Sadık Danışman and vice president Nuri Çalışkan accompanied the activities in Lebanon.

In Bangladesh, where our Rohingya Muslim brothers and sisters have taken refuge, our iftar programs continued throughout Ramadan. At the Bangladesh Darul Hikme Complex, which we established in 2017 and where many students from the region—especially orphans—receive education, we organized iftar programs with the participation of our students.

In Pakistan, with which we share a strong bond of brotherhood, our Ramadan activities were carried out extensively. In Eyüp Sultan Village, which we built after the great flood disaster in 2010, there was again great excitement during Ramadan. We met with the villagers at iftar tables and delivered food packages to orphan families.

In Somalia, one of the African countries most affected by hunger and poverty, we set up iftar tables to share the blessings of Ramadan and bring joy to orphans. We broke our fast together at the same table and experienced the blessing of unity and solidarity.

As the Yardımeli family, we extend our gratitude and thanks to all our donors and volunteers who made these acts of goodness possible.
