In the earthquake regions, the needs of the victims are very great. Many people had to move to different cities to stay with their relatives. However, for those who have to remain in the earthquake area and have nowhere else to go, minimum living conditions must be provided so that they can continue their daily lives.

Government institutions, NGOs and volunteers are working tirelessly for humanitarian aid and other needs. The tent cities and container homes that have been established have, for now, become shelters and homes protecting people from rain and cold.

The importance of cleanliness and hygiene..

During the removal of debris, ensuring and maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness conditions is closely related to public health.

One of the important needs for families staying in container homes and tent cities is “LAUNDRIES”. For earthquake victims who already have very limited clothing due to the disaster, Container Laundries that allow them to wash and dry their clothes in a hygienic environment will be put into service in the areas of need.

Each container will include 4 washing machines (10 kg) and 2 dryers. An earthquake-affected family will be placed in a two-room container home next to the laundry facility and will also be responsible for managing the laundry. All the needs of the assigned family and a certain payment will be provided by Yardımeli Association in return for their services. Container laundries will operate completely free of charge. Soap and other necessities for the laundry will be supplied by Yardımeli Association.

In the project personally followed by our Association President Dr. Sadık Danışman, the containers are currently in the production phase and infrastructure works continue in the areas where they will be placed. Making a statement about the project, Dr. Sadık Danışman said: “During our visits to the region, we identified cleaning supplies and laundry facilities as one of the urgent needs and immediately took action. In the first stage, 14 containers will be installed. Work is ongoing to determine the areas where the containers will be placed and to complete their infrastructure. The containers are currently in production. We will continue to be present in the region and carry on our efforts according to the needs.”
