Continuing the Journey with Our Achievements – Ramadan 2023
We have left another Ramadan behind. May the gains that Ramadan has brought to us accompany us throughout our lives, inshaAllah.
The Sultan of the months is actually a time of annual reflection, self-criticism, purification and planning. By evaluating the days we have lived, it gives us an opportunity to review our mistakes, shortcomings and things we failed to do even though we should have. For the days whose length we do not know, it offers a chance to make decisions, renew ourselves and repent.
How much were we able to benefit from this opportunity presented to us? How long will we be able to maintain the gains we achieved during Ramadan and the decisions we made? How much will we be able to use the lanterns that illuminate our path and the provisions for our journey in the rest of our lives? The answers we give to these and similar questions are closely related to how well we made use of Ramadan. If we have no answers, we will have only stayed hungry, lost some weight and talked about rich iftar tables.

What did we do?
This year we entered Ramadan with some sadness. The hardships and pain in the earthquake regions kept us constantly motivated to heal the wounds as quickly as possible.
Yardımeli teams were always on the ground. Our regional representatives, despite being earthquake victims themselves and losing relatives, friends and neighbors, competed with each other in supporting their fellow earthquake victims and delivering aid.
Since the first days of the earthquake, Yardımeli teams have delivered emergency aid materials such as food, tents, stoves, blankets, winter clothing, children's clothing, baby food, drinking water, fuel, carpets, medical supplies and hygiene packages to earthquake victims. Hot meals, soup and refreshments prepared daily were served to those working at the debris sites, those waiting for relatives and those gathering in parks and neighborhoods with the help of one mobile soup kitchen, two mobile kitchens and other vehicles.

Container laundries and living houses established in 7 different centers enabled our brothers and sisters, especially those living in tent cities and container cities, to wash their clothes.
Infrastructure works and the installation of washing machines and dryers have been completed and services have started. These laundries operate completely free of charge and serve throughout the day.

During Ramadan in Hatay, iftar tables were set in two different locations and meals were served to 500 people every day.
In Adıyaman, the iftar table established together with Kayseri Hilal Association also served 500 people daily.
Including iftar meals, iftar snacks and sahur distributions in different provinces, a total of 52,500 iftar meals were served.
Food packages, food boxes and food aid cards were delivered personally by our teams both in the earthquake regions and to families who migrated to other cities. In total, the number of delivered packages and cards reached 13,100.

Fitr, fidya and zakat donations received in cash were delivered directly or transferred to bank accounts before the holiday. Our fitr and fidya assistance reached 1,400 families, while cash assistance was delivered to 2,750 brother families.
Children, especially orphans, were made happy before the holiday with holiday clothing gifts and shopping gift cards. Children visited stores, tried the clothes they liked and chose their preferred models and colors themselves. With additional toys and gifts, pleasant surprises were made for them. In total, 5,200 children were made happy before the holiday.
Financial support was also provided to 1,252 orphans continuing their education.

Household items, seating groups and kitchen supplies were also provided to earthquake-affected families who moved to different cities by our representatives.
Our activities in the earthquake regions will continue without interruption, inshaAllah.
Work is ongoing to establish a Children’s Entertainment and Play Center in the container city in Malatya to help children play, have fun and overcome the trauma they experienced.
Once again, we extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors, supporters and field teams on behalf of the needy and victims.
